Previously dropped by her record label, Laci Kaye Booth proved that she could rise from the ashes as an independent artist. This year, the American Idol star’s schedule is jam-packed with several performances along with other musicians in the industry.

Laci Kaye Booth Will Embark on Tour for Remainder of 2022

In early October, Laci Kaye Booth opened about her hesitations while revealing that Big Machine Records decided to drop her out of the label. Announcing that she’ll be navigating her career independently, she also asserted that women must have creative control in the music industry.

“I got dropped from my label,” she said. “The first label that I signed with, the first label I met three years ago when I came to Nashville.”

A month after this heartbreaking yet liberating news, the American Idol star is tirelessly exerting efforts in making her name known. She recently posted on Instagram, compiling all her tour-related activities in the remaining dates of 2022.

“Looks like I’m gonna be living out of a suitcase through the end of the year!!!!” she wrote.

Booth will open for Blanco Brown’s 16-city music tour until December 3 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In addition, the country singer will also be with Noah Thompson and HunterGirl for their tour. Booth will be alternating with fellow American Idol alum Grace Leer as opening acts. Lastly, she will join country music band Diamond Rio in December at the Christmas in Ida festival in Michigan.

She Teases Original Music

Seemingly, Booth has been enjoying the perks of being an independent musician. Apparently, she has collaborating with other artists from Nashville. On October 24, Booth uploaded a recording excerpt of their original track, “Overnight.”

“You get out of a 5 year relationship & write this song on the day he leaves,” she wrote as POV.

So far, “Overnight” has received praises not only from fans, but from other musicians as well. American Idol music director Kris Pooley commented, intimating his awe over her voice and composition.

“Oof…good Lord Laci,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, American Idol alum Ashley Hess described the excerpt as “unreal,” while Ada Vox wrote that it was “incredible.”

“Crying again. Thank you for being so brave and vulnerable you are incredible. This was such a magic day,” fellow composer Sophia Scott commented.

While “Overnight” can clearly pass as a hit, Booth hasn’t disclosed any details yet regarding its full version. For the meantime, she is focused in teasing her first independent music release, “Damn Good In A Dive Bar.” The 27-year-old musician lately shared a 3,000-presave milestone on Instagram.
